The winner of the $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em championship
(Event #38) was Robert Cheung. He is a 46-year-old businessman from
Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Cheung was born in Hong Kong. He holds a Ph.D. Cheung, who goes
by the initials "RCW," has only been playing poker seriously
for about two years. He learned how to play the game from his friends.
This was Cheung's fourth occasion to cash at the WSOP, and third
time this year.
Cheung also took fourth place in $5,000 buy-in championship event
last year at Harvey Lake Tahoe's World Series of Poker Circuit,
netting about $80,000 in profit.
Cheung arrived at the final table second in chips to Andrew Lee.
The final table lasted about six hours. First place paid $673,628.
