Alexander Borteh, a 24yr old poker pro from Columbus, OH. This is
his third year to play at the WSOP. This is his first tournament
victory ever, however, it was Borteh’s 2nd occasion to make

championship was Alan Smurfit, a 64-year-old retiree from Miami,
FL. This is his second year to compete at the World Series of
Poker. It is his first time ever to cash at the WSOP after a dozen
cashes at tournaments elsewhere. Smurfit’s victory was not
only the most hard-fought battle at this year’s World Series,
to date. It was certainly the year’s greatest comeback.
