
Chris Ferguson: Professional Poker Player World Series of Poker Champion
Chris Ferguson was born in Los Angeles, California
in 1963, started playing poker even before he was 10
years old.
In college he honed his skill playing
poker for play money in chat rooms. Ferguson attended
UCLA, in 1999 earned a Ph.D. in computer science (focusing
on artificial intelligence) after five years as an undergraduate
and 13 years as a graduate student. Both of Ferguson's
parents have doctorate degrees in mathematics.
In 1994 he began to play in tournaments in California and in 1995 made his first trip to the World Series of Poker. Chris Ferguson jumped into the professional poker spotlight in 2000 with his World Series of Poker Championship win earning him a million and a half. Here are some of his profits:

Poker is one of the
three pursuits in Chris Ferguson's life, as well as
his academic interest in Artificial Intelligence and
his interest in ballroom dancing. This
professional poker player
is recognized for his unique poker look, got
the nickname because of his long hair and beard. His
favorite music is R&B, Jazz, & Classical, and
his favorite movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
