Barbara
Enright has a long list of accomplishments, among them being
the only woman to ever reach the final table of the World
Series of Poker Main Event, when in 1995 she finished in 5th
place.
She also finished in the money in the 2005
Main Event, is the first woman to win two WSOP bracelets,
and the first woman to win an open event at the World Series
of Poker.
Barbara Enright was inducted into the Poker Hall of
Fame on July 6th, 2007, along with Phil Hellmuth, and is the only woman
to ever be inducted.
She is the highest finisher among women having finished 11th
in the "Tournament
of Champions" at
the Orleans Hotel Casino in Las Vegas.
Enright is the only woman to win a Best All-Around at a tournament. At the 2000 Legends
of Poker at the Bicycle Casino she won a car after scoring eight
money finishes and six final tables.
All-in-all she has more major tournament wins than any other
woman; currently more than 30.
Enright was the first to achieve so many accomplishments
for women in poker, all leading to now to where the 2010 Women
in Poker Hall of Fame has nominated seven
women poker players, two of which will be chosen
to the Hall of Fame in September.
Enright, who also works as a motivational
speaker, is involved with fellow poker professional and author,
Max Shapiro, who writes articles for the WSOP and also has
a humor column in Card Player magazine.
Her favorite movie is "Gone
with the Wind" and her favorite music includes Blues,
Sixties, Fifties, Doo-Wop, Musicals, and Old Country.
She was
editor-in-chief of Woman Poker Player magazine during
the years it was published.
