Mike Sexton Becomes 38th Member of Poker Hall of Fame

The Poker Hall of Fame is inducting one new member in 2009, and what a one he is. Mike "The Ambassador of Poker" Sexton becomes the 38th member of the Poker Hall of Fame, becoming the only member of the nine finalists this year to garner induction. The remaining eight candidates, who were under consideration this year, remain eligible for future consideration. Phil Ivey Near Top of World Series of Poker Leaderboard After Day 4

Day 4 of the World Series of Poker has now drawn to the close. 789 players remained in the tournament at the start of Day 4. By the time that play wrapped for the day, the money bubble had burst and only 407 players remained. After four full days of play, Ludovic Lacay is the tournament chip leader with approximately 1.6 million in chips. Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, who finished as the Day 3 chip leader, has a very respectable 1.25 million in chips. Unfortunately for the other 406 players who are still alive in the main event, Phil Ivey also has a very healthy stack heading into Day 5, and has to be considered the favorite to win the entire event at this stage ...
